{"id":1252,"date":"2014-03-16T12:10:52","date_gmt":"2014-03-16T12:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.privatejetcharter.ae\/?p=1252"},"modified":"2021-02-12T14:40:34","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T14:40:34","slug":"supersonic-private-jet-windows-future-private-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/privatejetcharter.ae\/en\/blog\/supersonic-private-jet-windows-future-private-jets\/","title":{"rendered":"A Supersonic Private Jet With No Windows, the future of Private Jets?"},"content":{"rendered":"If an American based aerospace firm gets its way, wealthy travelers will be able to\u00a0fly from Dubai to London in as little as three hours, and they won&#8217;t even\u00a0 have to shut the blinds to get some sleep.\r\n\r\nSpike Aerospace is working on the S-512 supersonic jet, which it promises\u00a0 will fly at 1.6 times the speed of sound \u2014 nearly twice the average cruising\u00a0 speed of today&#8217;s aircraft.\r\n\r\nThis week, Spike announced the latest update: The cabin of the blazing fast\u00a0 private jet won&#8217;t have any windows.\r\n\r\nInstead, passengers will enjoy images captured by micro-cameras outside the\u00a0 plane and projected onto thin screens embedded in the walls.\r\n\r\nSo instead of dealing with glaring sun (or having to close the shade with\u00a0 their own hands), passengers can just dim the screens. And if the view of the\u00a0 clouds gets boring, they can switch the screens over to something more\u00a0 interesting.\r\n\r\nThere are several reasons for removing the\u00a0 windows from the cabin. It has long been known that the windows cause\u00a0 significant challenges in designing and constructing an aircraft fuselage. They\u00a0 require addition structural support, add to the parts count and add weight to\u00a0 the aircraft. But until recently, it has not been possible to do without\u00a0 them.\r\n\r\nWith the micro-cameras and flat displays now\u00a0 available, Spike Aerospace can eliminate the structural issues with windows and\u00a0 reduce the aircraft weight.
