Learjet 45

Learjet 45

The Learjet 45 aircraft is a super-light sized business aircraft produced by Bombardier Aerospace. The Learjet 45 is of classic design and layout with the development of the aircraft announced by Bombardier at the NBAA annual convention in 1992. The first customer aircraft was delivered in 1998 and typically carries 8 passengers comfortably however can hold 9 if necessary.

There have been a number of design changes made including a larger fin and rudder, extended engine pylons, smaller delta fins, full span elevators and single piece flaps. The Learjet 45 is larger than the Learjet 31 yet smaller than the Learjet 60 and with a 1.5m height and a 1.55m wide cabin will provide more head and shoulder room than any other aircraft in its class. The cabin is designed to accommodate double club seating, a galley and a full width aft restroom while 8 windows line each side of the cabin ensuring an abundance of light throughout the cabin. The flight deck features a four screen ( two primary flight displays and two multifunctional displays ) Honeywell Primus 1000 integrated avionics suite with an APU as standard. The 20 FADEC equipped version of the proven Allied Signal TFE 731 engine was developed in cooperation with Learjet for the 45 and incorporates the Learjet 60 design changed to increase fuel economy and reduce operating and maintenance costs.

For a small aircraft the baggage space is quite generous with an aft space accessible only from the exterior of the aircraft and not during the flight of 50ft cubed. The interior can hold another 15 ft cubed making a total of 65ft cubed. The interior of the aircraft is designed to offer the most useable passenger space possible so as not to feel claustrophobic. Small increases in legroom and galley storage make the difference with work tables that fold down from the walls and a noise level that never exceeds 72dB. A two-zone temperature control system ensures that both the cabin and cockpit are comfortable.

The Learjet 45 is recommended for short hops throughout the Middle East.
